Hi Mike, The lady who sold Zongzi is ethnic Chaozhou 潮州 as one of the main ethnic Chinese in Thailand. Winna is funny. I love his personality. I am a Thai born in Thailand, my grandparents were ethnic Chinese. My parents are Chinese (biologically), and I am like my parents, I was educated in Sydney Australia in Postgrad levels. Australians thought I was Chinese, Thai people think I was Japanese or Korean. BTW, my upbringing is American-Chinese style and so English is my primary language, followed by Thai, French and some Japanese. My ancestors were also Chaozhou. I'm a Thai-Chinese with American and Australian backgrounds, so confusing. There are many people in Thailand just like me. That's why Thai people adapt so well to different cultures.
