The grass is always greener on the other side. As you are an expat living mostly in an urban area, you may not face hardship most Thai low income families are enduring. Transparent and uncorrupted government is a must for any individual and Singapore aces that.

you'd be surprised that local thai people are all pursuing wealth accumulation in thailand to take care of themselves and family. "Finding yourself" is a privilege that we have when we go to less develop countries.

The new American Dream is to move out of America. I guess the new Singapore Dream is much the same, unscript yourself from Singapore. It's time to move out of your comfort zone to do justice to yourself - If you don't turn the page, you will not discover what's in the next chapt…

A lot of generalisation here, but really thoughtful and brave reflection you had man. I think the Singaporean dream (mentality rather) helped you be able to live in a condo in Bangkok. Ask the other average locals (in SEA, and even in KR, JP, CN), their average adult are struggli…

The fact that you choose to live your dream and choose experiences over things is showing that you are brave enough to live your own life, because right now, many people still fear doing what they love and follow the rat race path. It takes courage, and believe me, I've been thro…

I'm happy for you. As a Thai person living here, I probably feel the same way you do living in Singapore. Honestly, for me living here is pretty tough.

Love this word: “Script.” So many of us are just following the Singapore Script — study hard, climb fast, buy the condo, collect the titles, chase the badge of success. But a scripted life is not always a lived life. You only live once. Don’t spend it performing for approval, …

Since when there is a Singaporean dream, most properly is your parents or friends dream. I only understand certain experience, ideas and views as I age. Sometime it is not where you are but what mental state you are in. Going oversea might change your surrounding but the fundamen…

One: get genuinely good at your profession. Study, refine, polish your skills. Most people around you are coasting — if you're even a little better than them, you'll carve out a niche and the money will follow. Two: don't chase luxury. No cars, no iPhones, no watches, no endless …

Dude, you live for yourself. When you were young, people told you what to do and what is right, as you grow up you need to discover yourself and ask yourself if what they told you is right and then set out to do what you believe is right. Thats YOU.
