ENBefore I wrote this comment, I just explained this to a foreigner. I've been arguing with someone about this for 14 days. They're Canadians comparing Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, and they chose the Philippines because Thais speak very little English. Many people have complained about this—they want to live in Thailand and have deep conversations with Thai friends, but they don't want to learn Thai. So they want all or most Thais to learn English well. I told them they made the right choice with the Philippines because they can choose to befriend Thais who speak English, but wanting the majority to speak their minority language—that mindset disrespects the host country. Learning English is good, but the colonial attitude of forcing the host country to learn your language still lingers. I think Thais are welcoming, but wanting to live long-term and have deep connections while making locals learn your own language—that's ridiculous.

ENNot okay with the subtitle translation that literally copies the speech. For some people who don't speak clearly, it should be corrected to the right word. It makes me annoyed when I read it. Like "เขาเป็นเปื้อน" instead of knowing he said "เขาเป็นเพื่อน".
