ENIn our generation at UTCC, there were few farangs, but many Chinese (not the gray Chinese), they came to study for real. Koreans, Burmese, Lao were also there, but most were Chinese. Rich kids, but they didn't flaunt it. Especially those in the international program, they were more down-to-earth than the Thai program students (from what I've met). Personally, I loved UTCC because of this. I never felt pressured about social status. Another thing I liked was that no matter what faculty you studied in, you learned about business, living up to the name "Chamber of Commerce."
ENThere are only people coming to find opportunities in Thailand for business, but Thai people do the opposite. Mike and many others are the same. Thailand is open to everyone if you don't come to exploit Thai people 😊

EN@Mike Yu If you want to learn Thai, you should spell the word "มหาวิทยาลัย" correctly. You shouldn't use "มหาลัย," which doesn't mean "university" in the dictionary. Even though many people use it wrong in speech and it's understood, in written language it's not correct.

ENI studied at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in my first year, probably around 2017 (8 years ago). Now I've graduated and am working, but I still live around there because there's lots of food and it's easy to find. Walking around near the university, I feel like there are more foreigners now than when I was studying.
My daughter is about to attend a 2-year Master of Science in Nursing. The cost and tuition for 2 years will be about 7 million Thai Baht, even as a local student of California.

ENSo strange. I haven't watched this channel for almost a year. Just recently, a friend's son finished high school. He wants to study marketing, like data analysis, in Thailand. Auntie tried to help find some info, because top Thai universities don't really have many international programs. So I had my nephew help search, and he found one at Khon Kaen University, and he's planning to enroll there in 6-7 months. But I live in Bangkok, so I'd have to take care of him at first. I still think I'd rather he stay in Bangkok. Then I came across this clip and immediately shared it with him.

ENUncle lived in Thailand until age 35, then moved to Japan, and finally to the USA. Believe it or not, uncle never knew there was a university like this in Thailand. It’s been almost 40 years since I left Thailand. My son graduated from ABAC and works at a bank in Thailand. I want to come visit once or twice. My son told me he doesn’t want to go back to America, but if it’s just to visit siblings and parents, that’s okay.

ENI never knew there were this many foreigners. Back in the day, I studied because my dad came here for work, and there were very few. But now they're coming in droves, outnumbering Thais. Unbelievable. Especially Koreans, even more unbelievable, because they look down on us as backward. Chinese people also look down on us, but less so. I wonder who the teacher is, Thai or farang. If Thai, they often can't speak farang well. If farang, it's very expensive, tuition must be millions.
ENWatching the clip is cute, but from another perspective, Thais need to recognize and prepare to develop themselves much, much more because the trend is that good jobs will go to well-educated foreigners. It would be even better if tuition for Thai people was cheaper, a lot cheaper, so Thai people could become even more skilled. 40% of Thai people is not a small number. I've never seen how an international university system works for teaching and learning. I've seen some university introduction videos. Students speak English well, but I don't know if they practice real-life usage.
